Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will operate specialized heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and transport goods within our cold storage facility. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and materials handling will ensure smooth operations and uphold safety standards across all activities.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks to load and unload shipments
- Manage inventory movement within the warehouse using warehouse management systems
- Perform order picking with reach trucks and other equipment to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including documentation and proper storage of products
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for efficient storage and retrieval
- Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and best practices during all equipment operation and materials handling tasks
Experience
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and heavy equipment in a warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control and order processing
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, order picking, and materials handling techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with basic repair skills for lift trucks and related equipment
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety
- Previous warehouse supervisor or team lead experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments
