What does a Family Support Worker do?
As a FSW, you’ll work directly with children and families receiving services through Nebraska DHHS. Depending on the case, you may:
*Supervise Parent-Child Visits – Help create safe, positive experiences for children and parents.
*Provide Transportation – Transport children and/or parents to visits and other approved activities.
*Provide Family Support – Help families work toward goals involving parenting, employment, housing, budgeting, household management, and more.
*Complete Documentation – Document the services you provide and the progress you observe.
*Drug Testing – Opportunities to conduct UAs, sweat patches, oral swabs, and breathalyzer testing. Training is provided, and drug testing is optional if you are not comfortable performing it.
