Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to support dietary needs and preferences
- Support medication administration under supervision or as trained, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties, including laundry, sanitation of common areas, and personal spaces
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Follow detailed care plans tailored to each individual’s needs, including specialized dementia or Alzheimer’s care strategies
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
- Hands-on experience with patient care tasks such as assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and mobility support
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s or dementia is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid are required; additional certifications such as hospice care or home & community care are a plus
