JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY The Camp Assistant will support the Chef Instructor in culinary-based lessons to kids ages 8-16. Other duties include ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of the room and equipment. Hours are Mon - Thursday, 8am - 5pm. No evenings, no weekends. Requires passing a background check. The Camp Assistant supports the Chef Instructor during hands-on, culinary-based lessons for campers ages 8–16. Responsibilities also include maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation of the classroom and equipment. DATES & HOURS Thursday, June 4 – Training Day Monday, June 8 – First day of camps - Camps run Monday–Thursday, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. - Additional workshops and special camps may run until 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 30 – Last day of camps DESCRIPTION OF WORK Camp Assistants are responsible for guiding a small group of approximately four campers. While the Camp Instructor leads the overall lesson, Assistants ensure their group is: - Working safely - Following sanitation practices - Taking turns appropriately - Receiving help with basic tasks as needed LOCATION All camps take place at the Institute for the Culinary Arts on MCC’s Fort Omaha Campus, near 32nd Street and Sorensen Parkway.
