Proactive responsibility of managing vendor invoices and payments which results in accurate and timely job costing while maintaining an effective cash flow and good vendor relations

Accounts Payable Associate Job Summary:
Proactive responsibility of managing vendor invoices and payments which results in accurate and timely job costing while maintaining an effective cash flow and good vendor relations
Accounts Payable Associate Essential Functions:
- Process all vendor invoices, including job and account coding, distribution of invoices for necessary approvals, matching, data entry, and filing.
- Check processing as directed or using predetermined cash discount criteria.
- Monitor sales tax on invoices to ensure compliance with sales tax law and to ensure we do not pay sales tax when invoice is exempt. Distribute tax exempt forms to vendors as necessary.
- Maintain and update 1099 records and associated vendor files.
- Vendor file maintenance
- Resolve vendor problems and discrepancies.
- Question transactions that seem inappropriate or contrary to company policy.
- Other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable Associate education, experience, technical skills & attributes required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience .
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work well independently as well as be part of a team.
- Good problem finding and solving skills.
- Flexibility and a willingness to learn.
