Role Summary
The Business Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, competency-based CTE program. You will lead instruction in business, marketing, and technology, focusing on helping students earn MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) Certifications and other industry-recognized credentials. Beyond the classroom, you will serve as a staff representative to the CTE Advisory Committee, develop community partnerships, and provide career counseling to help students navigate their future.

- Certified Professional: Hold or qualify for a valid Missouri Business Education and/or Business & Marketing CTE certificate.
- Industry Savvy: You possess deep knowledge of the Microsoft IT Academy curriculum and have the technical skill to lead students toward MOS Certification.
- CTE Specialist: You understand the framework of Career and Technical Education and can manage the specific reporting, advisory, and partnership requirements of a state-approved program.
- Adaptable Educator: You have successful experience working with diverse learners (Special Education, ELL, and at-risk students) and can adapt your teaching style to meet individual student needs.
- Strategic Thinker: You are skilled in the Danielson Instructional Framework and know how to use data to monitor student growth and improve instructional practice.
Your Impact (Key Duties)
- Mastery Instruction: Deliver high-expectations instruction in business and technology courses that lead to measurable student competencies.
- Certification Leader: Organize and facilitate industry-standard testing to ensure students graduate with marketable, "day-one" professional certifications.
- Community Architect: Build and maintain industry partnerships to provide students with real-world insights, internship possibilities, and career opportunities.
- Program Innovation: Assist in developing activities to promote the Business & Technology program and participate in regional and state CTE meetings to stay at the cutting edge.
- Professional Mentorship: Counsel students on employment trends, career pathways, and post-secondary educational options.
- Ethical Leadership: Maintain a safe, respectful classroom environment that mirrors a professional workplace, fostering "soft skills" alongside technical ability.
- Program Stewardship: Serve on the CTE Advisory Committee, order necessary instructional materials, and maintain accurate enrollment and employment reports.
