Commercial Construction Superintendent - Manufacturing / Industrial
McCloud Builders is seeking to hire Construction Superintendents for projects located primarily in the Northern Virginia area. The projects are more specifically located in the Manassas, Woodbridge and Front Royal areas. The projects are industrial tilt-up buildings, ranging in size, with significant sitework.
McCloud Superintendents oversee all field operations on our projects to ensure that self-performed and subcontracted trade work is completed in compliance with the contract documents, the project schedule, and the project budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality work while supervising all suppliers, subcontractors, and field personnel. Our Superintendents are responsible for all on-site activities including the safety of personnel and the security of materials. Superintendents will implement and enforce safety and quality control policies among McCloud employees, suppliers, and subcontractors.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand and administer McCloud Builders’ safety program. Serve as the leader for all on site safety, manage a safe jobsite for all entities involved in site activities.
- Maintain a high level of quality standards for all aspects of the project.
- Ensure the project is constructed to meet all the contract requirements.
- Coordinate mobilization, logistics and daily activities with individual subcontractors as well as between subcontractors to maintain an efficient, logical and organized flow of construction.
- Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project and ensure subcontractors are treated fairly.
- Develop and organize the site logistics, arranging for temporary facilities/utilities for the site.
- Coordinate and schedule inspectors, testing agencies, etc.
- Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the duration of the project.
- Work with the project manager in formulating project schedule, ensuring that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed. Developing and presenting a three (3) week look ahead schedule at weekly owner/progress meetings.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understanding subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders. Identify issues early and act immediately to provide solutions.
- Maintain daily log of all activities and site conditions.
- Manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related discipline is preferred, but not required.
- 10 years of experience
- Experience in sitework and tilt-up construction are preferred.
- In depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc.
- Experience with a large-scale commercial contractor or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead field operations
- Working knowledge of applicable regulations (i.e., OSHA)
- Prospective employees must be able to pass a criminal background check, preemployment and random drug screen.
