About the Role
McCloskey Mechanical Contractors is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to support our leadership team with legal, contractual, and administrative matters related to the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing contracts, managing legal documentation, coordinating with outside counsel, and assisting with compliance and risk management activities. Construction industry experience is strongly preferred. This position requires strong communication skills, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, draft, organize, and manage contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, change orders, and other legal documents
- Assist with contract administration and ensure documents are properly executed and filed
- Coordinate with outside legal counsel regarding legal matters, claims, and ongoing projects
- Maintain and organize legal and corporate records
- Support compliance efforts related to licensing, insurance, certifications, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with collections, lien waivers, notices, and other construction-related legal processes
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed
- Prepare correspondence, reports, and legal documentation for internal leadership
- Track deadlines and ensure timely submission of required legal documents
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive company and employee information
Qualifications
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or related field preferred
- Paralegal certification preferred
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience preferred
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of contracts and legal documentation
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
