Position Summary: The Packer is responsible for accurately packaging finished food products in accordance with company specifications, quality standards, food safety requirements, and production schedules. This position plays a critical role in ensuring products are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared for shipment while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Description of Duties:
- Package finished food products according to established procedures and production requirements.
- Inspect products for quality, correct labeling, packaging integrity, and appearance before packing.
- Assemble cartons, boxes, trays, and other packaging materials as required.
- Apply labels, date codes, lot numbers, and other required product information accurately.
- Verify product counts, weights, and packaging specifications.
- Remove defective or damaged products from the production line and notify supervisors of quality concerns.
- Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist with line changeovers, equipment setup, and cleaning activities as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Meet productivity, quality, and attendance expectations.
- Support inventory accuracy by recording production and packaging information as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
