Our client, a top HR source, is looking for a Contract Benefits Manager to join their Human Resources division. This is a full-time, exempt, contract position lasting four to five months. The role is located in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid remote option that allows you to work from home up to three days a week.
This role supports the Total Rewards department and reports to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will be a benefits expert who assists in the administration of a competitive benefits program and partners with benefits brokers to attract and retain top talent. You will also monitor government regulations, legislation, and benefits trends to ensure programs are current and compliant.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the annual benefits open enrollment process, which involves system testing, updating documents, and ensuring accurate data transfer to external contacts.
Managing all aspects of leaves of absence, including FMLA and Short-Term Disability, and ADA accommodations.
Ensuring the compliant development and administration of benefits programs, maintaining data integrity, and preparing federal filings and compliance reports like 5500s and HIPAA notices.
Processing monthly insurance billing and performing quarterly audits.
Acting as a liaison between employees, insurance carriers, and brokers to resolve issues.
Experience: 6 to 10 years of experience as a primary benefits administrator or benefits manager.
Education: A college degree, relevant certifications, or equivalent work experience. SHRM or CEBS certification is a plus, but not a requirement.
Knowledge & Skills:
Advanced knowledge of employee benefits, wellness, retirement programs, and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated HR experience and awareness of legislative and legal changes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Previous experience with HRIS applications, specifically UKG, is a plus
