Position Summary:
The Electrical Preconstruction Manager – Mission Critical has the primary responsibility of estimating, design/decision assisting, and trade partner procurement for data center projects.
This position needs to be located in a geographic area where McCarthy has an office. A candidate who does not live in an area with a McCarthy office will need to relocate. If relocation is required, McCarthy offers a generous relocation package.
Key Responsibilities:
For California locations only, the salary range for this position is: $111,500 - $139,400. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.
For Colorado locations only, the salary range for this position is: $101,400 - 126,700. This does not include possible bonus and other benefits which can impact total compensation. Compensation offered may vary based on work location, experience, qualifications, specialty, training, and market and business considerations, among other factors.

Position Summary:
The Electrical Preconstruction Manager – Mission Critical has the primary responsibility of estimating, design/decision assisting, and trade partner procurement for data center projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, maintain status of and review bid documents, submitting bids and estimates in a timely manner
- Prepare complete, accurate quantity take-offs to build estimates
- Assist with execution plans and win strategies
- Prepare a thorough, detailed and well-annotated estimate
- Prepare a thorough, comprehensive proposal, including bid forms and supporting documentation
- Subcontractor & Vendor solicitation and management during preconstruction process
- Participate in peer bid review and contract review for compliance with bid proposal
- Follow-up with prior bid projects on a weekly basis and update status at weekly estimating meeting
- Assist project manager if questions arise throughout the project about the estimate
- Cultivate existing client relationships and work with Business Development in building new relationships and targeting opportunities
- Participate in design meetings, OAC meetings and provide Design-Assist or Design Build input.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, and/or 5-10 years’ experience with estimating, design management and/or field management.
- Experience in an Electrical Preconstruction capacity with an Electrical Contractor or General Contractor
- In-depth knowledge of construction principles/practices required
- Proven experience estimating electrical and low voltage systems
- Experience working with MS Excel, On-Screen Take-Off, Bluebeam Studio, Accubid, Revizto, WinEst preferred
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work
- Self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to build trust and influence others
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values while maintaining a "value added" approach to preconstruction
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with varied audiences
- 3 years of experience in Mission Critical projects
- Ability to perform electrical quantity take-off based on OPRs, BODs, SLDs, architectural floor plans (sometimes without mechanical drawings)
- Understand main differentiators among various electrical systems, solutions
