Auto Body Technician Apprentice
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Auto Body Technician Apprentice to join our collision repair team at McCarthy Chevrolet- Olathe. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to start a career in auto body repair and learn from highly experienced technicians. The apprentice will assist with daily repair tasks and develop the skills needed to perform high-quality bodywork, refinishing, and vehicle restoration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist body technicians with vehicle disassembly and reassembly.
- Prepare vehicles for repair by removing parts, cleaning surfaces, and organizing components.
- Support technicians in repairing dents, panels, bumpers, and structural components.
- Learn and follow proper sanding, masking, and painting preparation techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Operate tools and equipment under supervision, including sanders, welders, and spray equipment.
- Document work performed and follow repair procedures as instructed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and shop protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Interest in automotive repair, restoration, or collision work.
- Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
