CLIENT REPORTING SPECIALIST

McCarter & English is seeking a Client Reporting Specialist who may be based in any of our office locations. The Client Reporting Specialist will work with a cross-functional team to facilitate exceptional legal services to clients across a number of practice areas. The core responsibility of this role is to work with client teams to ensure outside counsel guideline (OCG) billing compliance and develop, maintain, and distribute reports, dashboards, and other insight tools. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one fulltime year of quantitative, analytical professional experience or equivalent cumulative part-time or internship experience, and fluency in legal dispute lifecycles, exposure to litigation deliverables, or experience with complex litigation workflows. The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $110,000 annually depending on experience. If you have the appropriate experience, we invite you to consider joining our team. Essential Duties

• Liaise between the firm and clients to ensure adherence to outside counsel guidelines with a focus on financial and staffing reports, status updates, and working with the other business professionals to meet client requirements.
• Review time and cost entries to ensure compliance with client requirements prior invoicing and coordinate with legal project managers, timekeepers, billing partners, and other firm colleagues to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with client teams to support the efficient management of engagements by gathering data, maintaining data integrity, and providing reports and insights to clients, legal professionals, legal project managers, and firm management.
• Support the implementation, use, and further development of reports and insight tools to facilitate data-based decision-making for our clients and client teams.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, and colleagues within the firm to develop report methodologies and tools tailored to specific needs.
• Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement through strong team interactions, being comfortable accepting and providing constructive feedback, and a personal commitment to quality, innovation, and follow through.

Minimum qualifications

• 1 year(s) of fulltime quantitative, analytical professional experience or equivalent cumulative part-time or internship experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with a focus on Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Highly organized.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Adept at issue resolution and working directly with a broad range of people in an office, customer service, or retail environment.
• Willing to challenge assumptions and propose alternative and bold solutions.
• Associate degree or equivalent years of relevant experience.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.

Preferred qualifications

• Fluency in legal dispute lifecycles, exposure to litigation deliverables, or experience with complex litigation workflows.
• Knowledge of 3E, e-billing platforms, Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Smartsheet, and document management systems.
• A record of working with high profile client teams and clients handling large portfolios.
• The ability to define or identify which metrics drive change.
