Your Role:
As a Junior Art Director at McCann New York, you bring passion, creativity, and a love for storytelling to every project. Enthusiastic about all things advertising, you inspire those around you with your innovative ideas and artistic vision. Partnering with a Junior Copywriter, you transform concepts into captivating stories that drive integrated campaigns for diverse clients. You excel at developing original content, quickly adapting to each brand’s unique visual identity with strong design skills and a distinct creative perspective. Collaborating with creatives, you contribute to concepts that meet our client goals and captivate and delight audiences.
What You Do:
- Develop tactical ideas that are engaging and effective for a range of clients and categories.
- Contribute to the conception and execution of content across all channels with guidance from Creative Directors
- Begin to actively hunt, concept and present proactive opportunities.
- Collaborate with copywriters, creative and other teams to develop strong integrated campaigns.
- Carefully interpret creative guidelines to produce accurate design/art direction deliverables
- Present ideas, layouts, and storyboards to the Creative Directors for approval.
- Able to work autonomously on design/creative assignments, often with tight deadlines.
- Clearly communicate visual ideas to leadership with a distinct point of view.
- Consult with project management, account and strategy team members as needed.
What You Bring:
- Knowledge of typography, layout, color, all design fundamentals (scale, proportion, rhythm, balance, symmetry, etc.), beginner skills in After Effects
- Organized with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects across departments, teams, and clients
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Knowledge of creative trends and best practices in advertising, culture, media, and social, then integrate these insights into your concepts.
- A growth mindset: You embrace feedback and use it to improve your work.
- Adaptability: You understand priorities may change that impact briefs and edits.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in Design & Communications

Location:
McCann New York team members must reside in or be willing to relocate to the New York Tristate area unless otherwise agreed upon by their manager and McCann New York’s Human Resources team. McCann New York is a hybrid workplace with three days in-office per week.
Salary Range:
The salary for this role is $65,000. Salary ranges depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; the associated discipline market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
