McCann Land Surveyors is seeking an experienced Georgia Registered Land

Surveyor (RLS) to join our growing team in Griffin, Georgia. This is a full-time, in-office

position responsible for providing professional leadership, technical oversight, and

quality assurance for surveying operations supporting commercial, industrial, heavy civil,

infrastructure, site development, and construction projects throughout Georgia.


The Registered Land Surveyor will serve as the Company's licensed surveying

professional, overseeing the accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance of survey work

performed by our field and office teams. This position provides technical leadership,

mentors surveying personnel, improves internal processes, and contributes to the

continued growth and success of McCann Land Surveyors. While the Registered Land

Surveyor is responsible for professional surveying oversight and compliance, this role

does not include responsibility for the Company's overall business operations,

management, or corporate oversight.


Position Overview


The RLS will provide professional oversight for surveying services performed under the

Company's direction while ensuring all work complies with applicable Georgia laws,

professional standards, client requirements, and company quality expectations. Working

closely with the General Manager, Crew Manager, Drafting Managers, project

managers, field personnel, engineers, contractors, and clients, the RLS will coordinate

survey priorities, review deliverables, support project execution, and provide technical

leadership across multiple active projects.


This position is primarily focused on survey management, technical review, quality

assurance, and professional oversight rather than serving as a field crew position.


Role Scope


The Registered Land Surveyor will be responsible for managing and overseeing the

Company's surveying functions and survey personnel within the scope of their

professional responsibilities.


Primary Responsibilities


  • Provide professional oversight for surveying work performed under the Company's direction.
  • Review, revise, approve, sign, and seal boundary surveys, construction surveys, plats, legal descriptions, and related survey documents, as appropriate.
  • Review field data, survey calculations, control information, and final deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate survey crews in collaboration with the Crew Manager.
  • Establish and maintain surveying procedures, documentation standards, and quality-control processes.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and finalize survey drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson Survey.
  • Coordinate survey schedules, priorities, and deliverables with project managers, engineers, contractors, clients, and internal staff.
  • Support surveying operations for heavy construction, civil, infrastructure, grading, utility, and site development projects.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies involving boundaries, easements, rights-of-way, control networks, construction staking, and record information.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Georgia laws, regulations, professional standards, and client requirements.
  • Mentor and support survey personnel while promoting technical excellence, accuracy, consistency, and professional development.


Required Qualifications


  • Current and active Georgia Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) license.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Carlson Survey.
  • Ability to independently prepare, review, revise, and produce accurate survey drawings, plats, and legal documentation.
  • Experience overseeing professional survey operations and reviewing survey deliverables.
  • Experience managing or supervising survey crews.
  • Thorough understanding of Georgia boundary law, surveying standards, and professional practice requirements.
  • Experience supporting heavy construction, civil/site development, infrastructure, or construction surveying projects.
  • Ability to review field data, survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and supporting documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, technical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects, crews, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to work full-time in an in-office environment.
  • Experience with GPS/GNSS equipment, robotic total stations, data collectors, field-to-finish workflows, and survey data processing is preferred.


Compensation & Benefits


McCann Land Surveyors offers a competitive compensation package based on

experience, licensure, technical expertise, software proficiency, leadership ability, and

overall qualifications.


Benefits currently include:


  • Salary $90,000-$125,000
  • Performance-based compensation growth following the initial 90-day period

Work Arrangement


This is a full-time, in-office position located in Griffin, Georgia. Applicants must be able
