The Catering Event Bartender position is responsible for ensuring that his or her assigned bar is organized and executes a high-quality catering bar-service for banquets, receptions and events to achieve customer satisfaction and retention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Catering Event mixed-drink bartender is responsible for helping to set up, run, and break down bars at events. These bars typically include beer, wine, a variety of liquor (anywhere from a few selections to a full bar setup), and non-alcoholic products. Bartenders work alone or as a team to set up a beverage service area, making sure the bar is stocked with all necessary supplies and equipment.
During the event, the event bartender is responsible for preparing and mixing beverages for guests, which may involve assessing guests' needs and preferences to make appropriate recommendations.
Responsibilities also include following all company policies and procedures for safety and security, including checking guests' identification for their age when necessary. Good personality, appearance, and communication skills are important for this position.
Catering & event Bartender Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of 2 years previous experience as a bartender is required
Basic mathematical and computer skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, total all other charges, and understand portion sizes.
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check an order and close out a check.
Sufficient manual dexterity in hands in order to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items
Fully knowledgeable in drink recipes.
Knowledge of laws of liquor service.
Courteous, professional, and attentive to guests of the events
Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
Work as part of a team to maintain guest satisfaction
Follow instructions provided for each specific event
Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays
Physical demands and work environment:
Must be able to work on your feet for 8 hours or more.
Continually required to walk
Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop or kneel
Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
Continually required to talk or hear
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid / hot conditions (weather & non-weather)
Frequently exposure to outside weather conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment may regularly be loud.
Constant standing and walking
Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling objects & occasionally lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 50 lbs., rarely lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 100 lbs. (with assistance).
Safely Load and Unloading of goods and supplies
Valid California Food Handlers Card
Valid ABC Responsible Beverage Service certificate

This is a part-time position. Attendance will be required in line with the business requirements, including at weekends, holidays and in the early mornings as well as evenings, based on rotating scheduling.
