Line Crew Groundhand

McCall-Thomas Engineering Company is seeking a 1099 (Contractor) Groundhand for work. This position would require travel in the Southeast, with current projects in GA and NC.

Benefits are not offered for contract (1099) hires, but this position may transition to a regular full-time employee of McCall-Thomas after 6 months. Benefits would be available at the time of transition.

The primary responsibilities for this role will require that this employee:  

• Work as a part of a line crew
• Load, unload, layout and prep tools/supplies/equipment/materials needed at each job site
• Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Lineman, Lead, or Supervisor
• Handle physically demanding construction duties as needed

What Will You Need:

• Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship
• High School diploma or GED
  
• Must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills
• Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Must be willing to travel - project locations will change
• Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor under all types of weather conditions
• Must be committed to working safely
• Valid drivers license and a clean driving record
