The responsibilities of a McCall-Thomas Engineering Forester II will include:
- Providing logistical, planning, and administrative support for contract services resources on capital projects. Individual(s) will be responsible for directing, per established contract and work specifications, contract crews assigned to selected transmission rights-of-way.
- Auditing contractor(s) performance based on quality, production, and work/contract specifications adherence. Reporting deficiencies to supervision and taking appropriate actions to mitigate any found issues. Making recommendations for changes to work and contract specifications to ensure operational and cost effectiveness as well as promoting system reliability and positive public relations.
- Ensuring daily/weekly progress reports are completed and signed by the appropriate personnel. Individual(s) will reconcile accuracy of reports through field operations and acknowledge with a signature that work was completed per work specifications and enter reports into an electronic corporate repository (ECM). Utilizing Oracle to generate contract requisitions and/or creating releases for approved vendor invoices for vegetation related maintenance activities
- Managing budgets for capital projects, reviewing invoices and timesheets to ensure correct billing. Ensuring all invoices are paid in a timely manner based on date invoices are received.
- Reviewing applicable transmission easements to determine any access and/or vegetation maintenance restrictions. Individual(s) will interact with property owners as required by the easement and/or through prior commitments. Responding to any reported maintenance or property issues associated with vegetation maintenance work and providing an appropriate response.
Requirements of the Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Forestry with 5-6 years of vegetation maintenance experience on electrical rights-of-way.
- Valid SC driver's license with clean driving record
- SC Pesticide Applicator's License (Category 5&6)
- Registered with the State Board of Registration for Foresters
- Eligibility to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements (required)
