What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at McCall Staffing Services?

Remote/local, 25 hours a week
What You’ll Do
● Recruiting & Hiring
○ Manage end-to-end recruiting operations for both full-time and contingent roles,
including conducting initial phone screens.
○ Develop effective sourcing strategies and partner with hiring managers to identify
future talent needs.
○ Draft and post job descriptions, coordinate communications, schedule interviews,
and manage candidate records in our ATS (Greenhouse).
○ Conduct background and reference checks and ensure timely, high-quality
candidate experiences.
● Onboarding & Offboarding
○ Coordinate and lead new hire onboarding to deliver an exceptional early
employee experience.
○ Manage offboarding processes, conduct exit interviews, and provide insights and
recommendations for improvement.
● Employee Engagement & Culture
○ Identify and analyze cultural trends to develop action plans that enhance
engagement and belonging.
○ Support and champion our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion,
and belonging.
○ Help organize internal initiatives, celebrations, and learning opportunities that
strengthen our culture.
● People Operations & Employee Relations
○ Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and performance management
programs.
○ Provide guidance to employees on HR policies, leaves of absence, performance,
and workplace matters.
○ Draft and implement new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and
employee experience.
○ Support employee training and professional development initiatives.
What You'll Bring
● A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, People Partner, or similar role, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment
● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
● Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
● A resourceful, hands-on mindset with excellent attention to detail
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable offering ideas and feedback in a collaborative team environment
