You will perform routine and preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, and support new installations and upgrades across the facility. What You’ll Be Doing.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting of food processing and auxiliary equipment.
- Execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently while maintaining food safety.
- Communicate effectively with production and quality teams regarding equipment status.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities at the McCain Plover plant.
- Maintain and take accountability for all assigned equipment and tools.
- Coordinate daily duties with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Provide availability for emergency repair of critical equipment.
- Communicate maintenance concerns, operability issues, and repair needs with the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Perform breakdown, preventive, and predictive maintenance on food process equipment.
- Maintain accountability for work order completion, tools, equipment uptime, and reliability.
- Document repair records, work orders, downtime events, and service needs.
- Use computer systems to input work order data and locate parts.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment and handle fast-paced, complex equipment scenarios.
- Follow all GMP, safety, and PPE guidelines, including fire-rated uniform requirements.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two-year technical college degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years working knowledge of food processing equipment; 5 years preferred.
- Electrical and mechanical knowledge equivalent to a technical certificate program required; Electromechanical degree or Journeyman status preferred.
- PLC programming and robotics experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, variable speed drives, servo controls, and process controllers required.
- Basic metalworking, TIG welding, and metal fabrication skills required.
- Experience with lathe, mill, shear, brake, and ironworker equipment is a plus.
