Job Summary – Scanning Coordinator

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Approximately 13 - 29 hours per week assisting the Scanning Coordinator with various responsibilities, including but not limited to, assisting with bi-weekly ad changes, hanging tags, creating and printing tag batches and the ability to learn and use the signage program.
• Provide prompt and courteous service to the customers according to company policies which promote the McCaffrey’s brand
• Requires some basic computer knowledge with the ability to learn the necessary tag/sign program
• Operate scanning computer equipment to ensure accurate prices and codes for all store products.
• Enter UPC codes for price and product changes into primary and secondary computer systems.
• Designate action to be taken, such as product, price, description, and/or quantity changes.
• Verify print and on-line information for advertising purposes.
• Adjust appropriate shelf tags and scales to conform to prices changes and new product information.
• Place and remove shelf tags.
• Operate cash register, whenever needed.
• Refer difficult or unusual customer problems to a manager for prompt attention.
• Perform other functions as requested or required by business needs.

Physical Demands:

• Combination of sitting, standing on feet, bending, stooping or walking.  
• Maneuver in a vertical range from floor to seven feet in order to change shelf tags.
• Work in front of a computer in a semi-confined environment for long periods of time.
• Requires daytime availability
• Lift, push, and/or pull items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to wear company-provided uniform, and maintain a clean and groomed appearance.

Skills Requirements:

• Friendly personality and “customer service” mentality.
• Good mathematic skills to operate scales & computers and to coordinate dates for inventory rotation.
• Good verbal and written communications skills.
