About the Role
As a Recovery Coach/Driver, you'll partner with clients who are beginning or continuing their recovery journey. You’ll support them as they identify their goals, build their personal Recovery Plan, and take steps toward improved wellness, independence, employment, education, and community engagement.
This is a meaningful, high-impact role where you can bring your lived experience, compassion, and motivation to those who need it most.
What You’ll Do
- Empower clients to define and achieve personal recovery goals
- Use client‑centered coaching tools to guide and support progress
- Share your own recovery journey to inspire hope and connection
- Drive clients to meetings and community activities
- Maintain documentation and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team
Position Requirements
- Must be willing to self-identify as being in recovery from a mental health, substance use, or addiction diagnosis
- Comfortable sharing your personal recovery story to motivate others
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to transport clients
- Recovery Coach certification is required
- Strong computer, communication, and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Recovery Coach Certificate from CCAR Recovery Coach Academy or another recognized program from the state of CT
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience working within group, family, or individual support systems
- A valid Connecticut driver’s license and regular access to a vehicle for community-based work
