We are currently looking for a Material Handler to join our team.  The successful candidate meets safety, production, sustainability, and quality standards.  The Material Handler interacts with other departments to achieve the company’s core strategies and moves products to accommodate production.

Responsibilities

• Reads and understands Job Tickets and layouts to produce the correct product of the highest quality.
• Understands and executes plan schedules in an accurate and prompt manner to effectively maximize throughput.
• Works closely with all Associates to coordinate the workflow.
• Performance metrics must be at the average or greater for this position.
• Completes required documentation in an accurate and prompt manner.
• Safely operates material moving equipment.
• Assists in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments. Assists with preventative maintenance.
• Correctly enters information into systems for job tracking and payroll.
• Disposes of waste materials into proper storage containers. Mark and identify containers with required documentation.
• Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations
• Responsible for maintaining daily housekeeping efforts.

• Responsible for maintaining safe practices, proper preventive maintenance and a clean work area.
• Adhere to all plant and corporate safety rules, procedures and guidelines.
• Report all Safety concerns immediately.
• Follow all plant GMP’s.
• Complete Hour by Hour boards daily
• Participate in Process Improvement opportunities.
• Follow SQDC and be prepared to present information.
• Ability to maintain a clean, safe work environment with a focus on 6S and Lean practices
• Other duties as assigned.
  

Preferred Skills

• Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment. Forklift experience, required.
• Basic math and reading skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
• This position requires frequent walking.
• Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Knowledge in Inventory Control and shipping/receiving activities is a plus.
  
  

Physical Demands

• Works in a manufacturing environment and will be required to wear safety shoes, safety glasses and other personal protective equipment as required while performing duties.
• Must be able to move freely throughout the plant.
• May be on feet 8-12 hours a day.
• May need to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, crouch, stoop, bend, sit, squat, twist, grasp, type, cut, push, pull, reach and climb as needed.
• Will be exposed to paper dust.
• Repetitive motion.
• Moderate to frequent lifting and/or moving up to 40 lbs is required.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and distance vision, ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and depth perception.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud.
• Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed.
• The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
