McBride Homes Land Strategy seeks an Estimator to provide accurate and detailed quantity estimates for residential land development projects. Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000/yr.
Responsibilities include:
- Review and interpret civil engineering plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
- Quantify materials and labor using takeoff software and manual methods
- Develop detailed cost estimates and bid proposals for site development scopes
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and clarify scope.
- Maintain and update unit cost data, historical pricing, and productivity factors
- Identify value engineering opportunities and potential scope risks
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed
- Support the transition from estimating to operations with a clear handoff and project documentation
Requirements:
- Demonstrated high proficiency using Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of civil construction components including grading, utilities, and paving
- Demonstrated proficiency using estimating/production software (Bluebeam and Planswift)
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Preference given to candidates with associate or bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in estimating (residential or commercial)
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- The candidate must submit to a mandatory drug test and background check.
