Farm Worker

Duties include the operation of farm vehicles and large farm implements. Equipment that employees will operate includes but is not limited to tractors, combines, sprayers, backhoes and off-road machinery to till soil, plant, cultivate, harrow, fertilize, irrigate, and harvest crops to approval of the supervisor. Employees will assist with planting, including manual and mechanical loading of planters, harvesting and power washing and cleaning equipment and facilities for the upcoming growing season. Harvest duties included unloading grain bins and loading into trucks and performing directed labor at grain bins during harvest. Non CDL farm trucks will be loaded with agricultural products and driven on the farm and to storage facilities. General maintenance and cleaning of the farmstead and housing is expected including weeding, nut harvesting tasks as needed, ensuring operational areas are organized and well maintained. Workers must be physically able to perform all duties with a positive attitude. General duties include repair and maintenance to farm vehicles, equipment and facilities. Manual tasks include setting up polypipe for irrigation and managing water levels in fields as well as installing and removing levy gates during irrigation duties. Working manually using hand tools is required. There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties and/or locations often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties vary depending on crop, weather, and field conditions. The employer reserves the right to increase workers' pay or provide bonuses based on tenure, performance, or other factors that are solely based on the discretion of the employer.
