McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. (MVP Law) is seeking an experienced and driven Legal Recruiter to join our Kansas City, MO office to partner with firm leadership and help us build a talented, diverse workforce that supports the firm’s continued growth. This position will own the full recruitment lifecycle for a wide range of positions across the firm – from lateral attorney hires to legal support and administrative staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for lateral attorneys, summer associates, legal staff, and general administrative staff
- Collaborate with firm leadership and department heads to develop and execute recruitment strategies that align with hiring goals
- Source candidates through job boards, legal recruiting platforms, law schools, professional associations, and referrals
- Screen and interview candidates to evaluate qualifications, cultural fit, and alignment with firm values and beliefs
- Coordinate and facilitate the interview process, including scheduling, debrief sessions, and candidate communications
- Manage relationships with external vendors that support firm recruitment needs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, ensuring a positive experience
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the Paycom applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Track and report on key recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, and pipeline activity
- Assist in developing and refining job descriptions, compensation benchmarks, and offer guidelines
- Support on-campus recruiting efforts, law school outreach, and participation in career fairs and recruiting events
- Stay current on market trends, salary data, and best practices in legal recruiting
- Other duties, as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Highly organized and excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
- Ability to act with integrity and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and related software
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or a combination of degree and relevant recruiting experience
- 3 years of full-cycle recruiting experience within a law firm or professional services organization required
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and sourcing tools
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds as needed
