Helper
Starting Hourly Rate: $25.00-28.00
Description of Duties:
The Helper is an entry-level job or temporary position which is assigned to assist with extra workload, cover absences and vacations, and supplement crews as required to meet unusual changes in the elements; heat, cold, severe weather, and etc.
- Perform property tending duties such as yard repair, snow shoveling, cleaning the pier, mucking the tanks, and painting and assisting others.
- May be assigned to unskilled job on the yard.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- The ability to follow direction.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This is an entry-level position.
- Current Transportation Worker’s Identification Card
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures or scaffolds.
- Helpers are frequently required to wear personal protective equipment.
- He or she must pass a respirator fit test.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: The Helper is responsible and accountable to the Yard Foreman.
Supervises: None.
