Cashier - McAlister's Deli

McAlister's Deli is seeking a friendly, dependable Cashier to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The Cashier is responsible for greeting guests, taking accurate orders, processing payments, and ensuring every customer has a positive dining experience while supporting the overall operations of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Accurately take dine-in, takeout, and online orders using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Process cash, credit card, gift card, and mobile payments while maintaining an accurate cash drawer.
• Answer customer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and promotions.
• Package orders accurately and ensure food is served promptly.
• Keep the front counter, beverage station, dining area, and condiment station clean and fully stocked.
• Assist with food running, restocking supplies, and other front-of-house duties as needed.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company operating procedures.
• Resolve customer concerns courteously and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
• Support opening and closing procedures, including cleaning and organizing workstations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cashier, retail, or restaurant experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic math and cash-handling abilities.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
