Title: Maintenance Technician
Status: Minimum 40 hours Week
Benefits: Excellent Benefits Included
Hourly Range: $25.00 - $30.00
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support our facilities and help ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment across all McAlister Institute properties. The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for the general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of McAlister Institute facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and promote the mission, philosophy, values, and direction of McAlister Institute.
- Perform building maintenance repairs including but not limited to: flooring installation & repair, drywall installation & repair, drywall patching/texturing, painting, carpentry including repair and installation of cabinets, electrical, plumbing, light landscape, equipment installation and repair, ceiling tile replacement, concrete/asphalt repair, and roofing repair.
- Assist with office space moves (furniture, bulletin boards, dispensers, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues (clogs, leaks, fixture installations)
- Maintain and organize maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment
- Keep all facilities clean and organized, including sidewalks and parking lots
- Follow all workplace safety procedures
- Provide detailed documentation and obtain required purchase authorizations
- Maintain professional appearance and positive relationships with staff
- Adhere to all agency policies, code of conduct, and dress code
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Minimum of 5 years in construction, generally facility maintenance, and repair (Required)
- Valid Class B California Driver’s License with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience
- 10-hour OSHA Safety Training Certification (Required)
- Basic computer literacy (email, documentation systems, etc.)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Compliance with all agency and contract requirements related to trainings, public health, certifications, and reporting.
- Must successfully complete all post-offer pre-employment requirements, which may include: drug and physical screening, TB test, background check in accordance with California’s Fair Chance Act (AB 1008)
