Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Role Overview

We are the eCommerce team of McAfee building next-generation solutions to help acquire new customers and retain existing customers. This position is for a Senior Software Development Engineer who will play a critical role in building a highly scalable and performing systems that serve a large user base.

This is a Hybrid position located in Frisco, TX. You will be required to be onsite on an as-needed basis, typically 2x per week. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to this location and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About The Role

• Architect, develop, test, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and responsive products that enhance the privacy and security of customers' digital experiences.
• Create solutions that support customer acquisition, retention strategies, and user data pipelines.
• Develop scalable, high-performance, and reliable web applications that operate 24/7.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with other applications.
• Build and deploy microservices and cloud-based applications, preferably on AWS.
• Optimize and integrate development tools and software for a seamless development environment.
• Ensure product releases meet high-quality standards through rigorous testing.
• Manage telemetry, dataflows, and workflow automation to drive business insights and improvements.
• Conduct deep data analysis on big data systems to provide meaningful insights into user behavior.
• Collaborate with global teams, including Architecture, Product Management, Customer Experience, Security, DevOps, and other departments, to enhance McAfee Consumer Products.
• Follow Agile Scrum methodologies and actively contribute to sprint planning and reviews.
  
  

About You

• 8 years of hands-on experience in application development.
• Strong expertise in C#, and .NET Core.
• Proficient in Node.js development and backend services.
• Experience working with database technologies such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures.
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Vue.js or React.
• Good to have exposure to GoLang development.
• Experience in building web platforms, integrating payment systems, optimizing applications, and implementing A/B testing.
• Strong sense of ownership, with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to develop applications with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
