Position Overview: As a Electronics Debug Test Technician II at SMTC, you would be responsible for supporting functional and/or in-circuit test fixtures. Technical resource for production required to have thorough knowledge of all products, subassemblies, hardware and test processes for assigned customers

Duties: 

• Ability to debug PCBAs down to the component level.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical and assembly drawings. 
• Familiarity with basic circuit analysis techniques (KVL, KCL, Ohm's Law).
• Capable of applying electronics theory to test and troubleshoot electronics.
• Familiarity with common electronics testing equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, power supplies).
• Utilize routine test or diagnostic equipment. Ability to learn and use software tools, with supervision.
• Familiarity with navigating Windows.
• Ability to follow written and verbal engineering instructions, including test procedures, with supervision.
• Receptive to mentoring from peers in technical community. Participates in developing new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in all work processes.
• Work independently or in a team environment, with supervision.
• Self-starter.
• Strong technical, analytical and critical thinking / reasoning skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to support production schedule requiring working overtime hours and alternate shift hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned 

Education and Experience for the Electronics Debug Test Technician II: 

• High school Diploma or G.E.D. required
• Associates or equivalent in electronics or electrical/electronic technology preferred
• Electronics Technicians Association Certification a plus
• Experience in the commercial / electronics market is a plus.
• General instrumentation hardware and software knowledge.
• Experience with environmental chamber operation and support a plus.  
• Experience with ATE operation and support a plus.
• IPC 610 certification a plus.
