The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of duties associated with accounts payable activities of the Company. Assumes ownership of the accuracy and timeliness of vendor disbursements with an analytical ability to verify source documents used in the execution of payments.
Checks outstanding bills against statements from vendors;
Coordinates with A/R regarding application of credits or payments for inventory purchased from customers;
Interfaces with buyers when PO price differs from invoices;
Key participant in any updates to the Accounts Payable system ensuring seamless service of vendor payments;
Prepare manual C.O.D. checks when required and update records in accordance with established procedures;
Education and Experience for the Accounts Payable Specialist:
• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED
• Associate’s Degree is preferred/ college courses in accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Access , Excel and Word, 10-key by touch, Oracle experience a plus
• Ability to type 60-65 wpm
