What You’ll Be Doing

• Soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate testing — mostly in the field, limited help in the lab.

• Use a nuclear gauge for compaction testing (yes, we’ll train you).

• Conduct concrete testing: Slump, air, unit weight, temperature. You’ll also cast and handle cylinders/beams for compressive and flexural testing.

• Pavement coring and soil sampling — you’ll help keep infrastructure honest.

• Follow ASTM, AASHTO, and other standards like it’s second nature.

• Complete field reports daily — clean, clear, and accurate.

• Lift and haul materials/equipment over 50 lbs. (We’ll keep you strong.)

• Stay safe and sharp with proper PPE and attention to safety protocols.

• Be flexible. You might get pulled into other tasks by management — and we trust you’ll rise to the occasion.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years in CMT preferred. 

• Familiarity with FDOT MAC System.

• Strong written and verbal communication — we like people who speak and write clearly.

• A professional, respectful attitude with teammates, clients, and contractors.

• ACI Certification for Concrete and/or Earthworks — a big plus. No certs yet? We’ll get you certified.

• ACI is highly desired, but not a deal-breaker- we will provide access to certifications.
