What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator, Freight Broker position at MC Freight?
MC Freight is a locally owned brokerage and asset-based carrier in St. Charles looking for an organized, high-energy person to join the dispatch team. The qualified candidate will work directly with customers, work to negotiate freight sales with carriers via email and phone, as well as also supporting the operational team. We are looking for someone willing to do what it takes to move the team forward while keeping focus on growing our brokerage.
Skills needed to do the job successfully include:
- Data entry (keyboard and ten-key skills) - Very FAST-Paced Environment average 3-5 emails/minute.
- Use of logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions
- Clear and effective communication with a wide and varying audience
- Must be comfortable and confident with answering the phones
- Strong negotiating skills
- Attention to detail and follow-through
- Proactive thinker
- Minimum requirements include high school diploma and 2 years Transportation experience.
- Basic use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
