About Fort Monmouth Day Program
Fort Monmouth Day Program is a NJ-DDD–approved adult day habilitation program serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Our program is rooted in creativity, community, and connection. Days are filled with art, movement, life skills, fitness, music, community outings, and meaningful social experiences.
We are looking for a Group Leader who brings warmth, creativity, confidence, and presence to the room, someone who can guide a group, and help participants feel safe, respected, and excited to be there.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a small group of adult participants through daily programming, including: Art & creative classes (painting, ceramics, mixed media, etc.), Life skills & group activities, Fitness, movement, and wellness activities, & Community outings and social experiences
- Lead a small group by keeping things structured, engaging, and respectful while allowing for flexibility and individuality
- Support participants in socialization, communication, independence, and confidence
- Manage group dynamics in real time with calmness, patience, and good judgment
- Create engaging options during free time so participants are never idle or disengaged
- Collaborate closely with supervisors and fellow staff to adapt programming as needed
- Complete daily documentation and brief progress notes in a clear, observational manner

- Passionate about working with adults with developmental disabilities in a dignity-forward way
- Reliable and team-oriented
Qualifications
- Experience working in a day program, school, camp, recreation program, or similar group-based setting preferred
- Passion for art, creative programming, education, or human services is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt activities for different functioning levels

Required Qualifications & Clearances
- Ability to commit to consistent attendance, Monday–Friday (5 days per week)
- Valid driver’s license required
- CPR certification required (training and certification will be provided by the program)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain professional consistency in a group-based setting
