Under the direct supervision of the Special Ed Teacher and BCBA, the essential functions are:
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Must participate in onsite direct implementation of ABA programs across sessions for all areas of students' Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Provide direct student care following the prescribed Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
- Collect and record data on observable student behavior.
- Participate in the upkeep of student graphs and graphing systems via graphing software or other visual display.
- Prepare student materials for the school day (preparing student workspace, classroom, obtaining required materials for the day, etc.)
- Accompany students on community outings and/or vocational placements
- Properly wear PPE, attend all training related to PPE and follow all safety procedures and requirements with or without accommodation.
- Maintain dignity, confidentiality & professionalism with students while adhering to policy and protocols.
- Complete other tasks as assigned.
The minimum qualifications and requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- RBT credential.
- Experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment/treatment programs with the developmentally disabled population is highly preferred.
- A basic knowledge of computer systems, applicable software and proficiency with e-mail communication.
- Good organizational, multitasking, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to follow all safety procedures and requirements.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically care for young children/adolescents/teenagers, with and without the assistance of one or more designated individuals.
- Must have the physical ability to bend at the waist (up to 45 degrees), twist, and move independently between standing and kneeling positions. Requires the ability to firmly grasp objects and raise hands overhead.
- Must be able to engage in sustained physical activity such as walking, running, and shuffling in multiple directions (including backward) for several minutes.
- Ability to routinely and safely perform heavy to very heavy physical tasks associated with “hands-on” student management, including during emergency situations or when responding to aggressive behavior.
- Must be capable of learning and correctly demonstrating multi-step physical procedures/maneuvers to manage students independently or as part of a coordinated team.
- This position requires in-person, on-site attendance.
