What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer Technician (Full-Time) position at MBP?
Moderate construction or engineering work experience preferred with the ability to understand construction means and methods. Progressive development in areas of time, cost and/or quality management.
MAIN DUTIES
Act in the lead role to maintain documentation on project sites, including computer logs, payment items, material invoices and files. Lead quality assurance efforts on project sites including installation, testing, and monitoring. Write daily reports outlining construction activities, site observations, weather, labor, equipment, safety, etc.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Active participation in company initiatives, including professional associations. Expand on training and professional development. Involvement with marketing activities to include business development, networking within professional associations, and active participation in company initiatives. Work closely with the Project Manager. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
High school education required, some technical school or Associates degree preferred. Agency certifications preferred. Working knowledge of construction, engineering, and quality control requirements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience. Must be proficient in reading/understanding engineering plans/specifications and also have a thorough understanding of a variety of trade systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel). Ability to read construction plans, carry out specific inspection assignments, document work progress, utilize basic math skills, and utilize computers and other specialized equipment. Able to work within budgets, prioritize tasks, and write technical reports.
GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY
Ability to work independently, seeking guidance and direction periodically when required.
SUPERVISORY
May supervise Interns, Technicians, or support staff on individual project assignments.
