Senior Accounting (AR) Manager Consultant

Location: Seattle, WA (Everett, WA area)

Work Model: Hybrid acceptable; preference for onsite (5 days/week). Open to remote candidates who can travel onsite 2 out of every 4 weeks (approximately 10 days per month).

Duration: 6-month contract

Hours: 40 hours/week


Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant / Senior Accounting Manager to support their Corporate Accounting organization with critical month-end and quarter-end close activities, financial reporting, shared services accounting, audit support, and internal controls initiatives.

This consultant will serve as an extension of the accounting team, partnering closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong corporate accounting experience, advanced technical accounting knowledge, and the ability to independently manage multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have experience supporting complex accounting operations, preparing financial reporting deliverables, performing reconciliations, assisting with consolidations, and strengthening accounting processes while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies.


Key Responsibilities

Month-End & Quarter-End Close Support

Support the Corporate Accounting team through monthly and quarterly close activities, including:

  • Assisting with month-end and quarter-end financial close processes
  • Preparing draft journal entries for management review and approval
  • Performing balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations
  • Supporting financial consolidations across multiple entities
  • Preparing intercompany elimination entries and reconciliation schedules
  • Supporting foreign currency (FX) translation and adjustment entries
  • Reviewing subsidiary-level accounting activity and supporting schedules
  • Preparing draft consolidated reporting packages for leadership review
  • Managing close deliverables and ensuring deadlines are achieved

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Partner with accounting leadership to prepare accurate and timely financial reporting, including:

  • Preparing monthly and quarterly consolidated financial statements
  • Supporting variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Investigating significant account fluctuations and trends
  • Preparing management reporting packages and supporting schedules
  • Providing financial analysis to support operational decision-making
  • Assisting with reporting improvements and process enhancements

Shared Services Accounting Support

Provide accounting support across key transactional and operational accounting functions, including:

  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Payroll accounting
  • Employee expense reimbursements
  • Corporate credit card accounting
  • Accruals and prepaid expenses
  • Cash and treasury-related accounting activities

Ensure transactions are accurately recorded, properly supported, and aligned with company accounting policies and procedures.

Audit & Tax Filing Support

Assist accounting management with internal and external audit activities, including:

  • Preparing audit schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
  • Supporting financial statement audit requests
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and validating account balances
  • Assisting with annual tax filing support and compliance documentation
  • Preparing schedules for federal, state, county, city, and other government filings
  • Maintaining organized and audit-ready documentation

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

Support the development and enhancement of accounting processes and internal controls by:

  • Documenting accounting policies, procedures, and workflows
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting
  • Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting organization


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7 years of progressive accounting experience within a corporate accounting environment
  • Strong experience supporting month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Advanced understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, consolidations, and financial reporting
  • Experience supporting audits and preparing audit documentation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve accounting issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting global organizations or multi-entity accounting environments
  • Experience with foreign currency translation and intercompany accounting
  • Background supporting shared services accounting functions
  • Experience documenting accounting policies and strengthening internal controls
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP/accounting systems
