Overview

MBN Cares Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to join our behavioral health team. The QMHP will provide direct care services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and case management to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This role plays a critical part in developing and implementing treatment plans, advocating for client needs, and supporting recovery and stability in community-based settings.

Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions through counseling and skill-building sessions (individual and group).
  • Coordinate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and safety planning as needed.
  • Document all services and interactions in compliance with agency policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with HIPAA, Medicaid, and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, and ongoing training.
  • Utilize medical terminology effectively in communication with healthcare professionals.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a closely related discipline) is required. Degrees must meet applicable state qualification standards.
  • Licensure: Must meet QMHP eligibility requirements per state guidelines (e.g., verified experience and appropriate degree, CANS and/or ANSA).
  • Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or co-occurring conditions preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse populations.
  • Other: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required depending on the service area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree with clinical licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or working toward licensure.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Community-based, outpatient clinic, or home-based setting.
  • May involve travel to client homes or community sites.
  • A flexible schedule may be required, including evenings or weekends.
