MBI Health Services is looking for compassionate and reliable Direct Support Professionals to join our residential team supporting adults and children with developmental disabilities.
In this role, you’ll make a direct impact by helping individuals with personal care, daily living skills, and community engagement in a supportive, home-like setting. Experience working with individuals who use wheelchairs or driving a handicap-accessible van is a plus, but not required. Starting Pay: $17.95 per hour.
Available Shifts:
- Saturday through Sunday between 7:00AM – 7:00PM
- Saturday through Sunday between 7:00PM – 7:00AM
- Monday through Friday between the hours of 3:00PM – 11:00PM
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with personal hygiene, daily living activities, and medication administration as directed
- Create and maintain a safe, comfortable living environment for residents
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals in their homes
- Accompany residents on community outings and recreational activities
- Prepare nutritious meals and perform light housekeeping duties
- Implement and monitor individual care plans, ensuring personalized support
- Conduct monthly fire drills and maintain safety protocols
- Complete accurate and timely documentation of client activities and progress
- Collaborate with team members and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Immediately report any malfunction of equipment to the Residential Manager.
- Collect all mail from the properties relative to utility bills, court notices etc, and submit to Residential Manager.
- Ensure that during inclement weather and other emergencies all preventative and safety precaution activities are implemented as outlined in company policies.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Successfully complete Phase I and II orientation training approved by DDA
- Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Physical ability to assist with personal care and perform light housekeeping duties
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
- Complete other trainings as required by stakeholders and management
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond appropriately in crisis situations
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness
- Willingness to learn and adapt to clients' individual needs
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards
- Emotional stability and resilience in a challenging work environment
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
