What You'll Do
- Understand and align with the client’s objectives and vision.
- Build client trust, manage expectations, and pursue growth opportunities.
- Oversee project scope, staffing, schedules, budgets, and revenue projections.
- Lead internal teams and delegate assignments based on skillsets and availability.
- Manage deliverables, client communications, and status reporting.
- Review and guide technical drawings, fixture design, and production documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure quality and alignment with design intent.
- Provide ad hoc design support, including models, presentations, and mockups.
- Mentor junior staff and oversee the work of Designers and Job Captains.
- Contribute to research, innovation, and documentation efforts related to retail environments and materials.
- Experience leading a design engineering team with a focus in metal and wood manufacturing; retail experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, product testing, and working directly with clients and vendors.
- Skilled in design software such as Revit, Rhino, Inventor, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks, with experience in millwork, fixtures, or related fabrication industries.
- Familiar with project management tools like Quip, Bluebeam, Wrike, OmniPlan, or Jira.
- Background in architecture, industrial design, engineering, or related creative fields preferred.
