Position Summary
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and
inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a
diverse population. MassBay Community College seeks a Research Analyst with
strong skills in data analysis, visualization, and presentation to join the
Office of Institutional Effectiveness to assist College leadership in promoting
data-informed decision-making and assessing overall institutional
effectiveness. The Analyst will support the College’s efforts in reporting data
to internal stakeholders and external organizations. While this is a mostly
remote position, the Analyst must be able to travel to campus as needed.
Key
Responsibilities and Duties:
Data
Collection and Management:
Work collaboratively within the department as well as across divisions to develop and generate reports, identify data anomalies, and streamline/support operational and research functions.
Collect,
compile, and maintain institutional data from various sources, including
student records, surveys, and external databases.
Data
Analysis and Reporting:
Conduct
quantitative and qualitative analyses to identify trends, patterns, and
insights related to student outcomes, enrollment, retention, and other
key performance indicators.
Develop
and produce comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to
communicate findings to stakeholders, including college leadership,
faculty, and external agencies.
Research
and Evaluation:
Research, administer, collect, and analyze data for the purposes of evaluating academic outcomes, and overall effectiveness of college initiatives;
CollaAddborate with faculty and staff to develop and administer surveys and other data collection instruments.
Support the college's accreditation processes by providing data and analysis required for accreditation reports and reviews.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional reporting requirements, including IPEDS, HEIRS, and other regulatory bodies.
Strategic Planning:
Contribute to the development and monitoring of the college's strategic plan by providing data and analysis to support goal setting and performance measurement.
Participate in institutional planning committees and provide data-informed recommendations to Deans and Vice Presidents to support decision-making.

review, and submit reports for needs assessments, program evaluations,
and grant reports.
Prepare
presentations for campus and external community members.
Perform
other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s
degree in data analytics, statistics, or related field.
Experience:
2 to
4 years of experience in a research environment analyzing quantitative
and qualitative data.
Preferred
– experience in Institutional Research.
Master’s
degree in Social/Behavioral Science, Education, Statistics, or related
field may be substituted for experience.
Skills:
Knowledge
of research and assessment principles in higher education.
Experience
with both qualitative and quantitative methods of data analysis.
Ability
to synthesize, summarize, interpret, and report data.
Proficiency
with the Microsoft suite of applications, especially Excel.
Experience
with Tableau.
Experience
with web-based survey design.
Genuine
enthusiasm for working with data.
Excellent
communication skills.
Ability
to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability
to juggle multiple priorities and to be flexible as priorities change.
Attention
to detail.
