Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and responsible individual to join our team as a School Cafeteria Worker. This position involves assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for students, teachers, and staff. The primary responsibilities include prepping lunch, washing dishes, cleaning, and serving meals to ensure a smooth and efficient cafeteria operation..
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of meals for students, teachers, and staff according to the daily menu.
- Ensure food items are properly stored, labeled, and rotated to maintain freshness and quality.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other serving items.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the cafeteria area, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines in food handling and preparation.
- Assist with restocking food and supplies as needed.
- Serve meals to students, teachers, and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Provide excellent customer service and address any concerns or inquiries promptly.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a similar role, such as food service or restaurant experience, is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with students, teachers, and staff.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 30 lbs).
- Availability to work the designated schedule, Monday to Friday, during school hours.
