This role is ideal for an experienced logistics professional who is highly organized, hands-on, and excited to lead a team while building processes that can grow with the business.

  • Oversee receiving, intake, cataloging, internal movement, storage, order preparation, and shipping to ensure items are accurately tracked at every stage.
  • Maintain strong inventory controls and chain-of-custody practices to protect customer submissions and minimize the risk of misplaced, damaged, or incorrectly processed items.
  • Organize and prioritize daily logistics activities based on submission volume, turnaround commitments, staffing, and operational needs.
  • Provide hands-on direction, training, and support to team members performing receiving, fulfillment, inventory, and shipping activities.
  • Monitor workflow and identify bottlenecks, errors, or inefficiencies that could affect turnaround times, quality, or the customer experience.
  • Develop, document, and improve standard operating procedures for receiving, inventory handling, internal transfers, packaging, shipping, and related logistics processes.
  • Establish appropriate quality-control checkpoints and ensure procedures are followed consistently.
  • Track key logistics metrics such as order volume, turnaround time, accuracy, shipping performance, inventory discrepancies, and rework.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, shipping issues, damaged items, or processing errors and drive issues through resolution.
  • Coordinate closely with grading, customer service, operations, and leadership to keep submissions moving smoothly through the entire grading lifecycle.
  • Manage shipping supplies, packaging materials, storage capacity, and other logistics resources to ensure the operation is prepared for changing volume.
  • Work with shipping carriers and service providers as needed to resolve delivery issues and improve shipping performance.
  • Help forecast logistics staffing, space, equipment, and supply needs as the business grows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow design, technology, tracking systems, automation, and use of physical space.
  • Support the hiring, onboarding, and development of logistics team members as the department expands.
  • Serve as the primary point of ownership for logistics-related operational issues and escalate significant risks or concerns to leadership.
  • Remain hands-on when needed, particularly during periods of high submission volume or when troubleshooting workflow issues.
  • Help design and implement a scalable logistics operation capable of supporting continued growth in submission volume.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
