Junior Budget Analyst

MBA Consulting Services, Inc. (MBA CSi) is hiring a Junior Budget Analyst to support U.S. Postal Service (USPS) engineering and infrastructure programs in Merrifield, VA. This role is ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in budget tracking, project finance, and federal reporting who want to grow within a stable, mission-driven federal environment.You’ll work directly with project managers and contracting teams to track budgets, analyze costs, and ensure compliance with federal financial requirements—helping keep large-scale USPS initiatives on schedule and within budget.This position offers career growth, hybrid flexibility, and exposure to complex federal programs that impact millions nationwide.Work Schedule: Initial on-site presence required for onboarding and ramp-up, with 1 day of telework per week once established. Key Responsibilities Track and monitor project budgets, labor costs, travel, and expendituresReconcile budgets across project management, finance, and contracting teamsPrepare and deliver budget reports, financial summaries, and presentationsCapture meeting notes, action items, and follow-ups to support project executionSupport project planning and financial forecasting activitiesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and cost controlEnsure compliance with federal budgeting, reporting, and audit requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field3–4 years of experience in budget analysis, accounting, or project financial supportStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPointExperience supporting federal agencies or government contractors (preferred)High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentWillingness to work flexible hours or travel as requiredAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningEligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal contracting or government-funded projectsKnowledge of federal budget compliance and reporting standardsProven ability to support multiple projects simultaneouslyAnalytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and accuracy Why MBA Consulting Services?
