Senior YouTube Video Editor

Job Overview

Ignite Media is seeking a highly experienced Lead YouTube Editor for the Matt Batista (youtube.com/@mattbatista) YouTube channel. As Lead Editor, you'll take videos from outline to final delivery. The role includes refining edits, producing visual effects, designing sound and music, and implementing voiceovers, talking heads, and other narrative components. You’ll ensure each finished video meets our creative standards and feels polished, intentional, and ready to publish.

Duties

• Complete one approximately 20-40-minute video per week
• Work across comedic investigative projects
• Improve pacing, structure, and the flow of scenes
• Integrate voiceover, interviews, talking heads, B-roll, graphics, and other story elements
• Work with the team to create an outline before the rough cut
• Select music and sound design throughout the video
• Rework sections where the story loses direction or becomes difficult to follow
• Carry videos through feedback, revisions, and final delivery
• Work primarily remotely, with occasional in-person collaboration in CT

Qualifications

Our biggest priorities are:

• Extensive professional experience editing long-form YouTube videos
• Exceptional storytelling and narrative writing skills

You must also have:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Adobe Premiere Pro
• Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects & Photoshop
• Extensive comedic editing experience, including timing and identifying opportunities for commentary.
• Ability to integrate narrative voiceovers and talking-head segments into a cohesive story.
• Strong music and sound design skills
• Experience managing large Premiere projects and shared media
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of a project from start to finish

Other requirements:

• Must live in the U.S. (Northeast/New England strongly preferred)
• Must be at least 18 years old

Employment Structure

• This role begins with a 3-month contract period
• Following successful completion of the initial contract period, the position is intended to transition into a full-time employee role
