Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dental Assistant to join our dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, etc.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Take and develop X-rays and dental imaging; ensure proper handling in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Update patient medical records accurately using EMR systems.
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
- Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Manage documentation including coding procedures for insurance claims and billing purposes.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed.
- Stay informed about advancements in dental technology including 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State Registered Dental Assistant license or certification required.
- Proven experience in dental assisting within a clinical setting; experience with general dentistry, pediatrics, prosthodontics, or endodontics is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic; familiarity with dental coding and documentation standards (HIPAA compliance).
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate X-ray machines and utilize medical imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of dental assisting procedures including vital signs measurement and chairside support for various treatments.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with the dental team.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
