Job Summary
Position: Service and Parts Manager
Location: Middletown CT
The Service and Parts Manager assists with various operational, administrative, and management duties. They manage the maintenance and repair needs of the rental fleet and ensure the timely procurement of inventory of parts. This role ensures equipment operates at peak performance and supports the seamless execution of service and maintenance tasks to deliver exceptional service to customers. The Service and Parts Manager responds to inquiries, keeps accurate records of all orders and inventory, and maintains an organized parts department.
Responsibilities
• Respond to inbound inquiries from customers, technicians, and sales team.
• Provide product and service information, and expert advice and support.
• Supply shop mechanics with needed service and repair parts from inventory.
• Assist other branches in finding needed parts.
• Track and maintain accurate parts records.
• Keep the parts department in good order so parts are available and easily found.
• Ensure all safety standards are observed.
• Complete and process purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Stay informed on product knowledge, industry trends, and competitor offerings.
• Coordinate technician training.
• Oversee building and shop maintenance.
• Administer weekly safety meetings for Mazzotta mechanics.
• Supervise road service calls and provide follow up with dispatch, sales, and branch managers as needed.
Requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and other relevant tools.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to learn and effectively communicate technical product details.
• Excellent phone etiquette and customer service expertise.
• Reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Knowledge of equipment and parts used in the construction industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of RentalMan software is a plus.
• High school diploma required.
• Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Preferred Experience: 1-5 years’ experience in service department within the equipment rental or similar industry.
