Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Associate with at least two years of associate attorney law firm experience to join our legal team. In this role, you will be instrumental in handling a diverse array of cases, and supporting the firm’s commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, handling discovery, taking depositions and representing clients in court proceedings. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent writing abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a broad spectrum of cases, including art law, fraud, commercial litigation, copyright and trademark disputes, employment law, insurance defense and coverage cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda with precision and clarity.
- Handle discovery including covering depositions, oral argument and hearings.
- Maintain detailed case records and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, opposing counsel, and court personnel to facilitate case progress.
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations across multiple practice areas to provide accurate legal advice.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; a minimum of 2 years of law firm associate work experience, admission to New York, Florida, California, Illinois OR Texas state bar is required. (All candidates must have worked as an associate in a law firm for at least 2 years.)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
