Brief Description
This Metals Segment Manager is responsible for expanding Mazzella Companies’ business with existing and new customers in the Steel Segment (Hot Metal Handling, Steel Processing, and Non-Ferrous Metals) by driving high growth targets through relationships, negotiations, and collaboration partnering with other key Mazzella personnel. Primarily responsible for aggressively developing sales growth within current national accounts and acquiring new accounts by direct and indirect sales efforts. This position sells all products by increasing product knowledge and brand awareness at retail and/or other corporate accounts with pull through at the dealer and/or branch level. Supporting and expanding an established national customer base is critical to our overall growth.

Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in an industrial sales role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

Job Duties
- Identify High Potential Growth Targets - $100K in annual incremental sales (National Accounts and Key Regional accounts)
- Become an expert and Manage and Teach the Steel Mill Program.
- Make joint field sales calls to Steel Mills, branches and/or key prospects, regularly scheduled overnight travel is required to successfully manage assigned accounts
- Driving, Promoting Mazzella Steel Mill Program
- Meet monthly established sales goals in accordance with business development plan
- Develops effective sales plans and business strategies for assigned markets and accounts
- Identify and set appointments with executive level decision makers
- Discover / Evaluate customer's needs and current relationships
- Present Mazzella’s value proposition to the prospect/customer
- negotiate master service agreements in accordance with Mazzella’s commercial margin expectations
- Submit deal sheets outlining program and sales and margin expectations
- Acts as a central point of contact to service existing or assigned account’s needs and requests
- Communicate / Implement program across chain or region(s) in partnership with Regional Sales Managers and General Managers of Mazzella facilities.
- Post implementation, continue to support the customer relationship to nurture and expand our business over time.
- Working with management and Corporate Marketing to implement promotional programs for National Accounts.
- Performs other associated duties as directed or required
Education

Experience & Skills
- Ten plus years of account sales experience in manufacturing, distribution or a related field
- Strong negotiations skills and experience
- Consultative skills, ability to develop and successfully present business cases
- Excellent analytical, math and spreadsheet skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
- Ability to prepare reports on sales forecasts, market trends, competitors’ actions and new product developments
- Must possess successful experience in leading cross functional teams on projects
- Must have advanced writing and communication skills, and be able to interact and persuade individuals at levels senior to him or her, as well as actively participate in meetings and group discussions with individuals from various functions of the organization (e.g. Sales, Finance, Marketing)
- Must be detail oriented, self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
- Communicate to the entire workforce a personal desire to prevent employee’s injuries at work; do this in a way that demonstrate a sincere care and concern for the employees. Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work habits
- Read, understand and lead the execution of each of Mazzella’s written health & safety programs
- Ensure health & safety training is completed according to the annual plan
- Routinely reinforce with the workforce, including your expectation that all injuries, incidents and near hits be reported immediately.
- Investigate all incidents to identify the root causes and corresponding corrective actions necessary to prevent recurrence.
- Review safety alerts and communications with your employees as necessary to prevent similar injury to your employees.
- Contact Director of Safety upon being contacted by any official of a regulatory agency such as OSHA, EPA, etc.
- Identify and eliminate or control hazards in the workplace
- Assist with initiating an early return to work on suitable duties after a work related injury.
- Ensure that employees, including contractors, are aware of and follow all health & safety rules as defined in Mazzella’s written health & safety programs
